I REGARD AS A VALUE by Erri De Luca

I regard as a value every form of life
the snow, the strawberry, the fly.
I regard as a value the mineral kingdom, the assembly of the stars.
I regard as a value the wine as long as the meal lasts,
an inadvertent smile, the tiredness of he who did not spare himself, two old persons in love with each other.
I regard as a value that which tomorrow will not be worth anything anymore, and what today is still worth little. I regard as a value all the wounds.
I regard as a value to save water,
to fix a pair of shoes, to keep silent at the right time, to rush to a scream,
to ask for permission before sitting down,
to feel grateful without remembering the reason.
I regard as a value to know in a room where north is.
What is the name of the wind that is drying the laundry.
I regard as a value the trip of the wanderer,
the seclusion of the nun,
the endurance of the condemned, any fault he may be at.
I regard as a value the use of the verb "to love"
and the hypothesis that there may exist a creator.

Many of these values I have never known.

I REGARD AS A VALUE by Sara Cantini

I regard as a value to meet you before to build your space.
I regard as a value a wall of books, a music bedroom, a kitchen scient ... ..
I regard as a value the joy to close the door behind you while back home at night and the pleasure of opening it to a friend unexpected, solitude and hospitality, refuge and strong wind.
I regard as a value, ... the color, a pillow with sequins in a white room, a gray stone in the studio of a painter.
I regard as a value walking barefoot on the grass or on the wood floor of a bedroom,
wake up in the night feeling at home anywhere in the world.
I am looking for the poor objects, used, experienced by others and the spaces created by time from work by nature.
I regard as a value giving value to the money that is used to build a room, a house, a dream for a project that combines ethics with aesthetics.
I regard as a value to look out the window and see the beautiful spaces that make our lives.

I strongly try my best every day to live in these values.
